Greetings! I have the privilege of serving as the 33rd president of APABA Colorado, following in the footsteps of and learning under so many inspirational past presidents. First & foremost, I want to thank our amazing boardmembers (meet them here) who generously give of their time and commitment to our organization. I look forward to working with them to continue the legacy of APABA in 2023-24.
This year, our APABA theme is:
Re-Engage.
Re-Ignite.
Re-Imagine.
The past few years have been hard for our APA community. We're still picking up the pieces from the pandemic and reeling from the horrifying anti-Asian hate and violence against our communities, but through it all, we have come out stronger and more inspired than ever to re-ignite positive change to our community. We're re-emerging with a renewed sense of hope and desire to serve.
How can we work with YOU to re-imagine new ways to help you re-engage and re-inspire you? We want to hear from you!
We've already done some amazing work together as APABA. Just to name a few, we have:
Developed a legal hotline & run legal clinics, know your rights workshops, and other pro bono programs benefiting the APA and larger community
Educated our membership with great CLEs
Provided professional development opportunities to our members
Started a mentoring program
Helped get more APAs onto the bench
I can name so many more awesome programs and projects we have taken on over the years. I’m excited to continue this legacy of service to our community and to our membership but to also come up with new and exciting ways to engage our members and inspire change in our community.
In the spirit of our theme, we have already developed some new initiatives we are excited to share:
Launch of our APA Women's Legal Alliance
Formation of new Professional Development & CLE/Programming committees
Creation of our first-ever APABA's Blog
I look forward to working with you this year -- to continue to make a difference in advancing APAs in the legal profession and improving the life of the APA community in Colorado.
